Charming Authentic Pre-Columbian Jalisco Culture (present day Western-Coast of Mexico) standing female figure artifact dating from the proto-Classic period (100BC-250 AD). Elegant cream-colored artifact with beautiful patina and manganese deposits. Stately pottery figure depicting a figure of a woman standing atop enormous feet and delineated legs. She presents proudly with a straight posture, rounded shoulders, both arms placed above her hips, and a slightly protruding abdomen. Her elongated head bears coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a prominent nose, an impressed mouth, curved ears adorned with earrings, and an incised brow beneath her coiffure. Highly burnished and adorned with red pigment atop a cream ground, this is a minimalist and attractive example of ancient Jalisco figural artistry!
