Lovely authentic (tested using thermoluminescence (TL) analysis and has been found to be ancient and of the period stated. A full report will accompany purchase) Pre-Columbian Figural Piece from the Huastec Culture of Western Mexico. Seated female figure dates circa 900-1450 CE (AD). Figure is seated on a stool with her hands on her wide hips as she glares out from slender eyes above a prominent nose and smiling mouth displaying barred teeth. A knee-length skirt hangs below her narrow waist, incised navel, and pointed breast as a rectangular headdress caps her head, sitting atop short hair and two annular earspools Most pigment on the body is original. Artifact is very nice condition with Light earthen deposits on surface TL hole to bottom and museum quality repair from several pieces with restoration over break lines.
