Fluorite on green Chlorite matrix, XL cabinet cluster—Yaogangxian, China
-First pic: Closeup of the fluorite cubes on this large cluster. See next pics for overall look! *This large, heavy specimen is currently set for US shipping only—please contact me for an accurate international shipping quote!* This unique large cabinet cluster is a graphic and beautiful combination of accent minerals, from the well-known Yaogangxian mine! The cluster features well-formed purple and blue cubic fluorite crystals, on matrix rock covered in mossy green chlorite. The cubes are glassy, with great clarity and formation; the chlorite is mossy and sage green in appearance. The back of the specimen has mini fluorite crystals that accent it here and there. The chips and damage have not been polished out of this specimen, contributing to its natural and organic appearance—however most of the crystals are in great shape. The gorgeous fluorite crystals are perhaps the most traditional mineral associated with the Yaogangxian Mine present in this cluster. This is a substantial, aesthetically composed cluster which combines well-formed quartz faces with raw, lined layers of calcite rosettes, and a fascinating interior landscape! It sits beautifully, with the matrix rock making a very nice backdrop for the fluorite crystals. This is a high-quality cabinet specimen from a well-known Chinese locality—it would offer a lot of beauty to any specimen collection! Locality: Yaogangxian Mine, Yaogangxian W-Sn ore field, Yizghang Co., Chenzhou, Hunan, China. Dimensions: 7.50” x 3.25” x 2.00” (195mm x 83mm x 51mm) Weight: 1115 g (2 lbs 7.3 oz) Fluorite is a halide mineral, and is one of the most popular collector’s minerals in the world! It can form in nearly any color, and generally forms cubes, octahedra, or dodecahedra. Chlorite group minerals are some of the most commonly seen inclusions, or as standalone mineral specimens--colors can range from red, to green, to whites and golds. Overall, this combination is a signature for the highly collectible Chinese quartz and fluorite mines. Healing Properties: Chlorite is believed to aid in self-regeneration, and recognition & respect for nature. Purple fluorite is associated with higher mind, and blue fluorite with intuition and emotional healing. *Though many gems and minerals have historical and cultural associations with healing properties, these items are sold for display, study, and collector interest only.
