Amethyst Single Point Purple Crystal Calcite Cloak High Quality Mounted Display Rocks and Minerals Mineral Specimen Brandberg Namibia
This beauty is an excellent example of Brandberg amethyst, from Erongo Region, Namibia. It is a natural crystal with clean structure, mounted on a display plate at an aesthetic angle. Uniquely, the purple amethyst is mostly surrounded by a little “cloak” of yellowish calcite. I love the color and shape contrasts in this piece! This appealing specimen features beautiful formation, good interior clarity, and a lovely bright purple shade. (As an unpolished piece, it has minor abrasions and inclusions, which do not lessen it's beauty.) The amethyst crystal does display a fracture near the base which I don’t believe will affect durability; price takes condition into consideration. The cluster sits at a unique display angle, and self-stands slightly to the side. This is aesthetic specimen! Brandberg amethyst has become highly sought-after, as existing mines are producing fewer and fewer good quality specimens. This sweet cluster would make a perfect display specimen or meditation aid! Locality: Brandberg area, Erongo Region, Namibia Dimensions: contact me Weight: 29.9 g (1.06 oz), including acrylic plate. Quartz is composed of silicon dioxide, and is one of the most abundant minerals on the planet. It is found in a multitude of colors, growth habits, and localities. Quartz may also host a huge variety of different included minerals. Amethyst is the purple variety of Quartz; its color is a result of iron. Calcite is the most abundant carbonate mineral, and forms in the widest variety of habits and colors of any mineral. Healing Properties: Amethyst is one of the earliest used stones for healing purposes--it has long been believed to protect and purify, connecting us to spiritual guides and releasing negative habits. *Though many gems and minerals have historical and cultural associations with healing properties, these items are sold for display, study, and collector interest only.
