Nikos Baptism Candles | 17" & 24"

A boy’s baptism candle set decorated in a seaside theme with shell and netting details. The main lambatha is wrapped in ivory twill and accented with smoke gray bow. This handmade design can be purchased as a set (one 24” lambatha and two 17” candles) or individually in both sizes. In a Greek Baptism, the godparent (“nonos” or “nona”) holds the 24” candle. The 17” candles are small enough to be easily held by children or any other participant going around the baptism font. After the Baptism sacrament, the larger candle is used for the three Sundays following Baptism when the newly baptized receives Communion. The 24” candle has a 1” diameter. 17” candles have a ¾” diameter. Candles burn at the rate of approximately 1” per hour and are smoke and drip resistant. These hand-dipped taper candles are created from a blend of superior quality paraffin wax with a pure cotton wick for a slow and calm burn.
