Ioanna Baptism Candles | 17" & 24"

A beautiful tapestry icon of The Baptism of Christ is displayed on the large lambatha. The two 17" candles are decorated with light pink organza and satin ribbons. The Baptism of Christ measures approximately 7" x 2" and hangs in the front of the large candle. This handmade design can be purchased as a set (one 24” lambatha and two 17” candles) or individually in both sizes. In a Greek Baptism, the godparent (“nonos” or “nona”) holds the 24” candle. The 17” candles are small enough to be easily held by children or any other participant going around the baptism font. After the sacrament, the larger candle is lit for three consecutive Sundays when the newly baptized receives Communion. The 24” candle has a 1” diameter. 17” candles have a ¾” diameter. Candles burn at the rate of approximately 1” per hour and are smoke and drip resistant. These hand-dipped taper candles are created from a blend of superior-quality paraffin wax with a pure cotton wick for a slow and calm burn. Shop our fu
