Christopher Baptism Candles | 17" & 24"

Woven from nature’s palette—our Christopher baptism candles in blue and ivory twine are a joyful tribute to a blessed beginning. Lambathes are wrapped in blue and ivory sisal twine and accented with a grosgrain ribbon bow. This design can be purchased as a set (one 24” lambatha and two 17” candles) or individually in both sizes. In a Greek Baptism, the godparent (“nonos” or “nona”) holds the 24” candle. The 17” candles are small enough to be easily held by children or any other participant going around the font. After the Baptism sacrament, the larger candle is used for the three Sundays following Baptism when the newly baptized receives Holy Communion. The 24” candle has a 1” diameter. The 17” candles have a ¾” diameter. Candles burn at the rate of approximately 1” per hour and are smoke and drip resistant.
