Penny Baptism Candles | 17" & 24"

Our pretty and playful Penny baptism candles are a customer favorite. Lambathes are wrapped in two-tone pink/natural and ivory twine. The larger lambatha is accented with grosgrain and crinoline bows and a playful twine flower. This handmade design can be purchased as a set (one 24” lambatha and two 17” candles) or individually in both sizes. In a Greek Baptism, the godparent (“nonos” or “nona”) holds the 24” candle. The 17” candles are small enough to be easily held by children or any other participant going around the font. After the Baptism sacrament, the larger candle is used for the three Sundays following Baptism when the newly baptized receives Holy Communion. The 24” candle has a 1” diameter. 17” candles have a ¾” diameter. Candles burn at the rate of approximately 1” per hour and are smoke and drip resistant.
