
Antique European Glass Dutch Dogon Beads CRBM_10681
A short 14" strand of Antique African Trade blue and some transparent beads. Made in Europe for the African Trade, these beads are frequently referred to as "Dutch Dogon", primarily because they were traded by the Dutch merchants to the Dogon tribes of Mali. Their place of manufacture is most likely Germany, although other European origin has not been ruled out. They were produced in the late 18th through the 19th century, although earlier manufacture has also been suggested. 16 beads ranging from 12x12mm to 20x25mm, the hole size varies from 3 to 6mm.
