Honan Red Persimmon tree produces heavy crops of medium size, deep red acorn shaped fruits. Rich, sweet flavor fruit is smooth with a fiber-free texture. The Honan Red persimmon is excellent for fresh eating or drying. When fully ripe no sense of puckering unless consuming the core which retains a bit of astringency.
