ABOUT Leather flask has sold. Hand painted flask still available.  Mid-19th century English gun powder flasks. The large flask is wrapped in leather with silver spout and monogrammed silver plaque "ALAN". The spout has a lever that opens the interior to pour the gun powder out and has "Dixon & Sons 1856" written on it. "James Dixon & Sons Sheffield" is stamped on the top. The smaller flask is hand painted throughout and has a lever on the top as well. CREATOR James Dixon & Sons Sheffield. DATE OF MANUFACTURE c.1856. MATERIALS AND TECHNIQUES Silver Plate, Leather, Brass. CONDITION Good. Wear consistent with age and use. DIMENSIONS Large: H 8 in. W 3.5 in. D 2.25 in., Small: H 5.25 in. W 1.75 in. D 1 in. HISTORY Unknown.
