This is a Lavender, medium violet pigment. Not usually used as a painting pigment, nevertheless there are references to it being a "paint pigment" if you google it. There is no article about it as a paint pigment that I could find. It is used mostly as a ceramic colorant in glazes where it produces blues. It can vary slightly in tone from batch to batch. We have 3 distinctive shades (light, medium, dark) which we call, respectively "Pink", "Lavender", "Rose". Note this is a single pigment, it is not a cobalt carbonate with a 2nd dark pigment added.
