A two-part experience celebrating the intersection of ceramics and culinary art. Nightbird is known for its ever-evolving tasting menu—each dish a reflection of chef Kim Alter’s thoughtful, ingredient-driven approach.  When she opened Nightbird in 2016, Kim envisioned a dining experience where every detail, from the flavors on the plate to the plate itself, was intentional. That vision led her to collaborate with MMclay, working closely with MaryMar to design custom ceramics that complement her dishes.  This workshop offers a rare opportunity to explore the creative process behind both the tableware and the cuisine. Part 1 (March 23): Craft a plate or bowl at MMclay studio, guided by MaryMar, drawing inspiration from the wares designed for Kim Alter’s award winning restaurant. We’ll fire your pieces for you which will be available two weeks later.Part 2 (April 6) : Meet at Nightbird (in Hayes Valley) for a wine-fueled plating demo and tasting with Kim herself, where she’ll show you how to present dishes as artfully as she does at Nightbird—on the piece you created. Dates: Sunday, March 23rd, 3-6PM Sunday, April 6th, 3-6PM Location: MMclay Showroom + Studio @ 69 Gough Street
