Buddstone, also known as South African Jade, is a variety of green chalcedony with numerous inclusions of a green mica called fuchsite. This particular buddstone is from South Africa and has a bright, candy apple green color. This material is very clean and would be great for projects that demand a natural pop of color. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters. Please see the corresponding sediment size chart.  Mineral Properties Mohs’s Hardness: 6.5 Specific Gravity (g/cm3): 2.55-2.70 Luster: Vitreous, Greasy Color: Green Origin: South Africa This product is not man-made, mixed with resin, dyed, or stabilized.
