Apatite is a calcium phosphate mineral that is naturally found in a variety of colors. This crushed apatite is from Brazil and has a beautiful, deep blue color. Apatite is a relatively soft mineral with a Moh's hardness of 5; therefore, it is a good pick for your woodworking projects. This crushed material is extremely clean and is premium quality apatite. Our medium material is considered to be sand sized (very coarse sand to fine sand), ranging between 2 millimeters to 0.25 millimeters.
