The adze, or tväryxa as it is traditionally called, is basically like a chisel you can chop with. It has a number of uses such as squaring off logs & planks, shaping beams, & general carpentry tasks. The large adze is usually kept for when the user is standing over the material or logs, chopping between the legs.
