
Introduction to Intarsia Knitting with Karen Frisa
This is a one session class: Saturday, July 19th, 1:30-3:30pm Course DescriptionIntarsia is a technique for creating areas of color in your knitting without having to strand onecolor behind another. This allows you to create large blocks of color, or to add isolated bits ofcolor to your knitting. Argyles are a classic example, but you can also make florals or anypictures and designs that you can think up. We will work on a small sampler in class. PrerequisitesKnit, purl, cast on, bind off. Skills LearnedMethods for intarsia knitting. SuppliesApproximately 1/2 oz smooth worsted weight yarn in at least four different colors, needles in thesize that you usually use for your yarn, something to mark your place on a chart, and a blunttapestry needle.
