Senufo Multipurpose Bench — Small
Description Today, most utilize this piece as an incredibly historic low to the ground table, but we were astonished to learn that this work was used for everything ranging from a bed, to a table, to even ceremonial events for the Senufo people of the Ivory Coast. Furniture was extremely rare, and most often reserved for the elders of the tribe, so a piece this big would have served every function imaginable – both quotidian and sacred. The acacia wood (carved from a single tree trunk, no less!) has been smoothed out by its constant use.
