Caparsa Riserva Chianti Classico Caparsino 2017
$42.99 on 6+ (code: 6saves5) 94pts Vinous The 2017 Chianti Classico Riserva Caparsino is gorgeous, but it also needs at least a few years in the cellar to be at its best. Bright acids lend energy to this super-classic, structured Riserva. Deceptively light in structure, the 2017 packs a good deal of punch. Dried herbs, cedar, leather, tobacco and mint hint as to how the Riserva will develop in bottle. Drinking Window: 2025 - 2037 - By Antonio Galloni on August 2020 Once again I was deeply impressed with the wines I tasted from Caparsa, a tiny estate in Radda. Proprietor Proprietor Paolo Cianferoni presented two gorgeous Chianti Classicos that capture the best the vintage had to offer. The Chianti Classico is done entirely in cement, while the Riserva is aged in oak. Both wines are truly special and distinctive. Winery: Cement tanks ferment the wines and large botti (oak casks larger than SUVs) age the wines into the majestic, deeply complex, and elegant, but dense and persistent character. I hate to name-drop this again but if you love Monterevtine, soulful reds like ethereally deep red Burgundy or Loire reds you will love these wines!Grapes: 100% SangioveseAging: 18 Hl.
