Lilacs symbolize new beginnings and renewal, as they are among the first flowers to appear in the spring. Throughout history and in many cultures, lilacs have been associated with love and romance, especially a first love or a never-ending love. The Celts and Greek myths claimed that the highly fragrant flowers had a magical power. Lilacs have a beautiful classic form and texture that is captured in this ceramic dish. The leaves are painted in the style of delicate watercolors.
