Fennel Jewelry Holder, Ceramic Dish with Flower Imprint

Ceramic jewelry holder covered with handpainted flowers and a real 22kt gold accent on the rim.  Handmade from start to finish, using fennel flowers and fronds from my own garden, creating a special spot for your rings, earrings, other jewelry, or incense cones.  This ceramic dish is made from smooth porcelain-like stoneware clay, dried, bisque fired, glazed, and high-fired once more at approximately 2200 degrees Fahrenheit. The flowers  are imprinted from an actual fennel flowers and fronds and then handpainted with shades of yellow, orange, and green ceramic stains and underglazes. The glaze is a glossy soft clear. Real gold is applied to the rim in a special process designed for ceramics, and the piece is fired a third time to bond the gold. It's a labor intensive process with a beautiful result.
