Le Piane "Eos" Bianco 2020

100% Erbaluce planted in the ancient Maggiorina system of vine training, these white grapes are interplanted with 50-100 year old Nebbiolo and Vespolina in the volcanic soils of Boca. The volcanic mineral, saline notes are very present here, accompanied by lemongrass, dried leaves, and pear skin. There's a richness and opulence to the wine balanced by a savory complexity and a zesty finish. Truly singular and exceptional, this is one of the most profound white wines you're likely to encounter from the Piedmont. Very tiny amounts are produced. Jonathan Kemp
