200 SEEDS. Raphanus sativus. 23 - 25 days. Annual. Heirloom. Zones 3 - 10. A quick and easy to grow garden favorite. Crisp, tender, and mild flavor. Oblong 3" rose-scarlet roots are white at the tip and tasty fresh or cooked. Grows well in the garden or in containers. Directly sow seeds thinly 1/2" deep in well-worked soil after the last frost has passed. Germinates in 4 - 6 days. Succession plant every week or two until late Spring and replant in late Summer for a Fall harvest. Space rows 6" apart and thin seedlings to stand about 2" apart. Full sun. Keep soil evenly moist, especially during dry spells, taking care not to oversaturate. Harvest when roots are still young, between 1 - 3" long.
