Approx. 150 SEEDS. Raphanus sativus. 45 days. Heirloom. Zones 3 - 10. Also known as the Japanese Minowase Daikon Radish. Very easy to grow and high in nutrients, with a much milder flavor than other radishes. The roots grow large, often up to 4 inches in diameter and between 6 to 20 inches long! The leaves contain beta-carotene, calcium, and iron, while the crisp roots are full of water, vitamin C, potassium, folate, and magnesium. Excellent fresh in salads or added to soups, or even pickled! Can also be planted as a cover crop as they are great at "bio-drilling," or breaking up the soil and improving soil compaction and water penetration. Keeps well!  All around a great crop to grow and add to your garden. Directly sow seeds thinly 1/2" deep in rows 6" apart in well-worked soil in late Summer for a late Fall harvest or in early Spring about 4 - 6 weeks before the last frost date.
