The cover notes point out that “it’s easy to put on a pound or two reading a Mitford novel.”  With the publication of this book in 2004 fans have 150 recipes named for the character they are associate with – such as Father Tim’s Rector’s Meatloaf. The 350+ pages are also filled with excerpts from Ms. Karon’s writings. So, if you’re not in the mood to cook, you could read a bit about life in Mitford. In the book, Ms. Karon admits to NOT being a good cook; she left the recipe work and testing to Ms. McIntosh.
