Alphabet Sampler A.L. F.L. 1861

Unusual horizontal layout of a sampler. Very pleasing soft muted colors in cream and blue. Signed AL & FL 1861. Depicts the alphabet & numbers, an unusual lobster motif, along with a butterfly, dogs and birds. Charming all around. Sampler measures about 20.5" x 4" Not charted and frame not removed. Approximate Frame dimensions : 7.75" x 24.25" x 1.25" - solid wood, some wear. Condition: The stitching is good and strong. Minor age fading and minor age darkening to the fine linen ground. Two out of place red stitches upper left.
