
Charles Chief Eagle, Lakota mini tipi beaded bag. Made in 1992 and signed by the artist (GM212)
The piece consists of brain tanned hide and sinew sewn. The entire front side of the bag is covered in glass trade seed beads. The piece has a light white background with design in colors of white, red, blue and green. It is embellished with fluffs of feathers and stuffed with sage. Just beautiful! The artist is Charles Chief Eagle, Pine Ridge Lakota Sioux. (deceased) See photo of artist. Size: Bag itself: 4 1/4" tall x 6" wide with side fluffs: 7 1/2" wide Condition: The piece is in excellent condition with little to no bead loss, soft hide and clean fabric. Provenance: Charles was a featured artist in my gallery and came to Chicago for our show in the early 1990s.
