well well well. this double snake ring offers two serpent heads in an embrace at the front of a band stylized to appear as three coils. this ring is full of stories and resilience and has earned being a wearable ode to perseverance and multiple chances the hallmarks date this piece to Chester 1919, but there's evidence of a re-banding, so it may be that the serpents date to an earlier era and 1919 was a re-banding. hard to know, really, but this piece has all of the wear and heft you'd want to see in an antique snake ring  when recently sourced it was missing the stones and the settings had been filled in with gold, which wasn't aging well as the solder seams revealed themselves over time. this piece is worthy of TLC, so it recently had a refresh with new diamond stones solid antique 9k rose gold with new natural diamonds M E A S U R E M E N T S  measures size 10 on the mandrel, but because of its width it will likely fit much smaller, and may fit more like a size 9 ~12mm north to south at the front tapering to ~6.5mm at the base of the band diamond eyes measure ~1mm across diamonds on the top of the snake heads measure 3mm across weighs 6g C O N D I T I O N  in good antique condition quirks to spot:-re-banding seams on either side of the serpent face of the ring-heavy file mark at the base of the band from a previous overly-thorough acid testing-fading hallmarks inside the band-solder seams near the larger diamonds leftover from a previous setting-dark patina within the recessed portions of the design details and stone settings-heavy surface scratches, dents, and dings new diamonds! after receiving new diamonds this ring got a bath to restore some of its patina and then a polishing to remove excess patina. the result is a bit of stubborn darker patina in some of the design details one hint that this ring might have been from the victorian era and then re-banded later in 1919 is that there are remnants of a bright yellow bloomed finish present only in the hard-to-reach recessed details that haven't been polished recently e.g. the hallmarks, underside of the snakes this is a vintage item and will show surface scratches, dents, dings, dulling, wear, patina, and signs of having been worn and loved S H O P  A G R E E M E N T S please read the 'shop policies' section to understand this shop's shipping & exchange policies
