this piece is so special and because of the hue of the gold and iridescence of the pearls it takes on different personalities in different lighting a true late georgian era (~1830s) 9k pale rose gold mourning locket framed with seed pearls with double sided curved 'glass' that may actually be rock crystal this is an incredibly special, dainty piece that is looking remarkably wonderful for its nearly 200 years of adventures it's been freshly converted to a pendant and the brooch hardware was very carefully removed and new 14k rose gold bails were added M E A S U R E M E N T S locket measures ~19mm x ~17.5mm x ~4mm large round jump ring bail has a ~5mm opening weighs 3.5g C O N D I T I O N in very good antique condition modest surface scratching on both sides of the 'glass' locket each pearl position features a pearl, but they aren't all perfectly matched —it's very plausible that some are antique replacements the locket opens in the back and the hinge is easily and the 'door' fits securely in the frame minor scratching and color variations on the back of the pendant where the brooch hardware was removed the pearl settings and front of the setting have significant darkening from time-earned patina while the sides and back of the locket were polished in recent history, revealing the true pale color of the rose gold as is often true of antique pieces like this, there are some micro voids along the solder seams, which aren't damage, but they do speak to the handmade nature of the piece sturdy new double bail S H O P A G R E E M E N T S please read the 'shop policies' section to understand this shop's shipping & exchange policies
