A rare antique Georgian ring, circa 1720, featuring table-cut natural rubies and glittering rose-cut diamonds arranged in a halo or flower cluster design; as was common for rings of this era the stones are foiled and set in silver, while the gallery and band are gold with a delicate engraved botanical motif.Details: Measuring approximately 9/16" north to south, and 5/8" east to west across the face. The band and gallery are not marked for metal content but XRF tests to solid 14k with a sterling silver face for the stones. Size: Size 7 scant, we do not recommend resizing.Condition: In excellent antique condition with light abrasion to the tops of the stones, a couple of surface reaching inclusions in the rubies, and minimal oxidization or darkening to the foiling of the stones; absolutely amazing when one considers this piece is at least 300 years old. There is a slightly lighter section of gold at the back of the band, evidence of a resizing at some point in it's history. Important car
