Southeast Native Pollinator Wildflower Mixture
STATESAlabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee THE PROBLEM: The market is full of pollinator wildflower mixtures in a range of prices and regions. Many include non-native and invasive species that can be detrimental to native habitat and cause confusion for well-intentioned consumers. A study cited by the National Park Service showed a greater diversity and abundance of birds and caterpillars were found in yards containing regionally appropriate native plants. THE SOLUTION: Stover Seed, in collaboration with Pollinator Partnership, (a nonprofit dedicated to pollinator health and conservation), developed a series of regionally specific native plant-pollinator seed mixes. Our goal was to provide an ideal wildflower habitat for home gardens to provide pollinators with a diversity of flowers that are native to each region and will bloom across growing seasons. What makes these mixtures special? Pollinator Partnership’s biologist
