Antique French Louis XVI Neoclassical Style Painted Cane Back Loveseat W/ Floral Linen

A magnificent late 19th-century painted loveseat made in the style of Louis XVI with a Neoclassical profile. The loveseat was originally made for the District Court in Hamburg, Germany (labeled under the seat), and sourced by us in Provence, France. The loveseat is made from solid wood finished in light gray lacquer decorated with gold leaf accents. The back and sides of the loveseat are covered with hand-weaved cane in intact condition. This charming loveseat has been meticulously restored and reupholstered in exquisite Kaufmann floral linen. It also includes four down-filled pillows, each elegantly accented with piping trim. The loveseat is raised on four hand-carved flutter legs decorated with molded rosettes on the corners.
