Vicia faba This small-seeded fava has big flavor, fast cooking times, and no need to peel! The grower has selected this variety to contain less bitter tannin in its skin than most fava bean varieties. The 30-inch-tall plants are very productive and very winter hardy, known to survive temperatures down to 10 degrees Fahrenheit. These seeds should be direct sown in the garden either in early spring or fall, in a location with full sun and well-drained soil. Beans will begin to mature about 65 days after planting for spring sowings, or 230 days for fall plantings. 14 gram packet contains a minimum of 20 seeds.
