Gui Zhi Jia Shao Yao Tang 桂枝加芍藥湯

Cinnamon & Peony Combination (exterior-interior-releasing formula) Effects: dispelling cold and effusing the exterior; replenishing yin and harmonizing yang. Indications: greater yang inappropriate precipitation; abdominal pain related to greater yin disease; abdominal pain, diarrhea, inflation and fullness in the abdomen, abdominal rectus muscle spasm.   Clinical Reference: This formula is often used in treating abdominal pain; diarrhea; enteritis; appendicitis; food poisoning; pain caused by peritonitis. Do not eat raw, cold or sticky food when taking this formula.
