Primitive wooden carpet stretching tool stenciled with "The Faultless Carpet Stretcher & Tacker" on the body. Mfg. by JW Quilling Co. Quincy, Ill. Patent date Aug 18, 1903. Made from a hard wood, probably maple or mahogany. Measures: 44" long. Folds to a width of 3" Stenciling is dark & readable. Excellent vintage condition. Metal hardware appears to be intact & in working order. Imagine you could even tack down a strip of carpeting with it, if you were brave enough to try.
