Invented by 19-year-old Mary Florence Potts in 1870, this iron revolutionized the task of ironing with a removable handle so a cold iron could be swapped for a hot one and the fact that it was pointed on both ends so the user could iron in either direction. Oxidation to the metal base but the wood remains smooth. SPECIFICS: Material: Iron and wood Measurements: 7" long x 3.5" wide x 5" tall. Weighs 4.5 lbs so the user had the side benefit of a bicep workout.
