Antique Mrs. Potts Sad Iron (c 1900)

Invented by 19-year-old Mary Florence Potts in 1870, this iron revolutionized the task of ironing with a removable handle so a cold iron could be swapped for a hot one and the fact that it was pointed on both ends so the user could iron in either direction.  Antique Mrs. Potts sad iron Curved removable wooden handle with original hardware Branding embossed on top of the metal base Circa early 1900's CONDITION: Good vintage condition.
