"Must Race" by Ron & Metro I used to be a fan of Horse Racing. Went to the races, watched the Triple Crown on TV every year. That all changed when we adopted Metro off the track, and cared for him for the next 10 years. He was a mess. He had 2 knee surgeries during his career and came back to race. He needed another to remove knee chips again, but since he already had 2 surgeries he couldn't have another. So he was continued to race with bone chips in his knees. Each owner made money off him and when he would decline he was passed from stable to stable becoming someone else problem. He finally declined so much that he went from High Dollar Racehorse at Saratoga, to cheap Claiming Horse at a small track in Pennsylvania. That's where we met him and took him home when the track vet wouldn't let him be raced anymore. He was a mess when we got him. Severely under weight, could barely walk without a limp. It would take us 2 years of rehab and treatments just to get him in shape to do lig
