An Integrated, Interdisciplinary, Thematic Unit on Developing Character Through the Study of The Little Prince. Through the exploration and analysis of a metaphorical fairy tale, The Little Prince, we can set the tone to teach what is important in life and to create common expectations for self-actualization and human interactions. The students will explore the themes of: What is essential is invisible to the eye; the importance of simple sense and humanity; individuality in the crowd; friendship and love; compassion for others; loss of innocence; loss and separation. The study of these themes will ultimately affect personal perspectives of self , our school community, and the world in which we live.
