Quintarelli Rosso del Bepi 2016
Giuseppe Quintarelli Rosso del Bepi is a red wine from the Veneto region in northeastern Italy. The vineyards are situated in the Valpolicella area, characterized by rolling hills and a mild climate, with soils rich in limestone and clay, ideal for cultivating indigenous grape varieties. This wine is crafted from a blend of Corvina, Corvinone, Rondinella, and other local grapes. In exceptional vintages, Quintarelli produces Amarone; however, in years deemed less than perfect, the Amarone is declassified and bottled as Rosso del Bepi. The winemaking process involves the traditional appassimento, where grapes are partially dried to concentrate flavors. Fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts, followed by extended aging in large Slavonian oak barrels, allowing the wine to develop complexity and depth.
