.30-06 Springfield Standard Rifle - 1951

This is a very clean .30-06 standard rifle made in 1951. The receiver is marked with serial number 173204.  The bolt was polished at some point in the past, and the serial number there is almost illegible.  However, there are extremely faint hints of this same number remaining on the bolt.  This rifle is in very good to excellent condition, with original factory configuration. The metal finishes are all original. The receiver has a light rub on the left side of the rear bridge and some minor wear on the tang. The bottom metal has cosmetic wear, fading, very light freckling, and some surface scratches, primarily to the trigger guard. The barrel has some scratches on the left side, behind the front sight ramp, and there are some dings and fading around the muzzle.  The bluing on the barrel is dark, with very little wear. The bolt has some light wear and fading. The low comb stock on this rifle is a beautifully figured and colored piece of American walnut, with no cracks, splits, gouges,
