
.220 Swift Target Rifle - Special Order - 1953
This is a rare .220 Swift target rifle produced by special order in 1953. Winchester pulled the target rifle from their catalogs beginning in 1951 and they did not return as a regular production offering until 1955. All target rifles produced in 1952-1954 were a result of special order. This rifle is a properly configured "No. 2" target rifle (the basic features of target rifles produced between 1937 and 1951), with the exception of a rear sight dovetail in the barrel and fitted with a Lyman 12S slight slot blank (the correct production blank for a factory dovetail not fitted with a sight). It presents in all factory-original configuration and finishes. It is a high-condition rifle grading in NRA excellent condition. The original bluing on the rifle is near perfect - grading at 99% with no edge wear, rubs or notable handling marks.
