4x3" This crystal slices of pure bliss is really something to marvel at. While you’re probably l familiar with amethyst, these beauties are in a whole different league. Their formation begins with a single drop of mineral rich water that continues to flow from the roof of a cave. The water contains dissolved silica and iron which flows down the roof of the cave and forms icicle-like structures. The iron gives the stalactites a purple hue, while the silica crystallizes into quartz. This combination of both amethyst and stalactites is very rare and found in only a few places in the world. The process is believed to take 130 millions years to complete and the results are stunning. There is also a prismatic quality to the crystals along the edge which really gleamers in the sun.
