
Beginner Brioche 2 Class
Sunday, 3/23/251:00 pm – 3:00 pm Explore and develop the fundamental skills of brioche knitting with the fabulous Makenzie Alvarez! This class will teach you step-by-step instructions for two-color rib brioche, how to read essential brioche stitches, and how to work increases, all while starting Makenzie's gorgeous new cowl pattern — Transference. This class is designed to build a brioche skill set, so you can take on any brioche pattern. Skill Level Advanced Beginner. You should be comfortable with knitting, purling, yarn overs, increasing, decreasing, and reading knitting instructions. Materials Copy of Transference (available on Ravelry) US 3/3.25 mm needle Fingering weight yarn (the pattern is designed for a 13-color fade using minis, but it could be altered to use as few as 2 colors) 2 Stitch markers, 5 removable markers Materials are not included in the class fee, but registered students receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased in the shop. Homework Before you come to class, gather your materials and work the first section of the pattern so we can jump right into the brioche section in class. Bio Makenzie Alvarez (she/her) is a full-time knitwear designer (Hanks And Needles) in the Portland, Oregon, area. With a background in fine art and an admiration for architecture, she enjoys creating classic and engaging knitting patterns, influenced by her love of the arts and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
