Sunday, 3/16/251:00 pm – 3:00 pm Explore and develop the fundamental skills of flat brioche knitting! This class will teach you step-by-step instructions for two-color rib brioche while knitting a swatch. This is an excellent opportunity to build a foundation for brioche knitting. Skill Level Advanced Beginner. You should be comfortable with knitting, purling, yarn overs, and reading knitting instructions. Materials US 7/4.5 mm needle Worsted weight yarn in 2 high-contrasting solid colors 2 Stitch markers (optional) You will receive a handout during class on basic brioche knitting, with brioche stitches covered during class, and photo tutorials. Materials are not included in the class fee, but registered students receive a 10% discount on supplies purchased in the shop. Bio Makenzie Alvarez (she/her) is a full-time knitwear designer (Hanks And Needles) in the Portland, Oregon, area. With a background in fine art and an admiration for architecture, she enjoys creating classic and engaging knitting patterns. Her love of the arts and the beauty of the Pacific Northwest inspire her work.
