This is not continuous length sisal but is cut into 1/2" to 1" pieces. We are selling it as a natural, sustainable reinforcement for use primarily in "cementitious" casting materials like plaster, gypsum cement, or concrete. I also wanted to try it in a clay body, in hand built, thick walled clay pieces when fired and the sisal is burnt out, but haven't had a chance to yet. Polymers like nylon are used for that purpose. This has much thicker strands than nylon. It might give some interesting texture (or not work at all, that's what experimentation is all about!)....(see more)
