There are several materials that will retard the setting of plaster. Others I've used in the past are organic based and had a foul smell. This does not and is a manufactured white powdered concentrated retarder which is probably a combination of several retarders. The supplier says 1/4 to 2 tablespoons per 100 lbs of plaster.
