This 1/8" long glass fiber falls into the category of a "milled" fiber. Usually 1/16" and 1/8" long glass fibers are not chopped by a blade but are shortened by being milled or broken up in a hammermill. The 1/8" refers to the hole sizes in the mill, so there may be 1/8" and shorter fibers included. Milled glass fibers can have a thixotropic thickening effect on liquid resins in addition to being a reinforcement. They mix well and are very suitable for reinforcing any liquid resin mixes (epoxy, urethane, or polyester). We also have nylon, polyethylene, and rayon synthetic fibers, all of which are much more flexible than glass fibers.....(see more)
