Fused silica is an amorphous form of optical quartz that could be used as a resin filler. It can also be used as a refractory additive/aggregate in calcium aluminate refractory cements like RC-70 or Secar 71, as a raw material in ceramics, as an additive/aggregate in portland cements (added to white cements would be most appropriate), in ceramics, and other more exotic applications (if you had the equipment to melt it you could make transparent quartz glass shapes).
