We have 3 grades of black iron oxide: natural (magnetite) granular coarse, natural (magnetite) fine, and synthetic fine. If you're using a black iron oxide as a pigment, you'll want to know the 3 grades do vary from a speckled dark gray which is this grade (granular magnetite), a dark gray (fine magnetite), and a deep black (synthetic black iron oxide). This is a natural black iron oxide which comes from the mineral magnetite. It is a coarse grade which is what "granular" refers to, by comparing it with other coarse materials it's about a 50 mesh, but it does include "fines" which might go all the way down to 400 mesh....(see more)
