This is a cement which can be used on it's own like portland cement to make concrete or mortar. However, it is significantly higher priced than portland cements. For small castings this higher price is not that much of a deterrent. It is more often used as an additive to regular portland cement imparting its advantages without increasing costs so much. Its full name is "calcium sulfoaluminate cement". CSA cement concrete sets up much faster than portland cement concretes (if used as a 100% replacement for portland cement it almost sets up too fast for most applications). It is also much stronger than portland cement concretes and it shrinks less....(see more)
